Inmaculada E. Maluenda

Architect by the ETSAM (UPM) and professor at the Universidad Europea de Madrid since 2004. In 2007 established Q! estudio with Enrique Encabo, a cultural management office specialized in communication projects within the field of contemporary architecture. Curators of «Excepto» from 2007 to 2011, the series offered a portrait of the most recent architecture in Madrid, and obtained the Anuaria Spanish Graphic Design Award (2008) and the COAM Award (2008). They have acted as coordinators and deputy directors in the exhibitions «Cuatro Cuartos» (EMBT/Miralles-Tagliabue), in its Madrid edition (2009), congresses such as Construtec COAM (2010) and biennial events, as assistant curators of the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale of 2012.

As independent editors they have produced over fifteen volumes, edited by their own office or for specialized publishers. Since 2012 they are the architecture critics of the supplement ‘El Cultural’ of the newspaper El Mundo. Frequent contributors to specialized journals like Arquitectura Viva, Baumeister, Pasajes de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, Arquitectos and cultural publications like Matador and Esquire, they are also the authors of the essay La arquitectura es inevitable (UEM, 2013). Since 2009 they direct the weekly radio program «PlanetaBETA», broadcasted by the CBA, which obtained the 1st Prize in the VIII Ibero-American Biennial (2012) and was shortlisted in the FAD Awards to Thought and Critique (2013).
