TranSerai

“Transerai”, is based on an open proposal to design a public, medium-scale, congregational building of a non-routine nature.

“Transerai” is a building located on the banks of the Tagus river in Toledo, in a former drinking area for cattle at the confluence of the natural path along the water’s edge, cattle tracks and the Camino de Santiago (Way of St James).

The proposal encompasses the possibility of providing a building that promotes the transmission of traditional arts and crafts to new generations; agricultural and cattle raising knowledge. It also serves as a resting place along frequented pilgrim and shepherd routes, allowing for the development of Transhumance (continuous grazing, which adapts to the changing areas of productivity).
